For anyone's that interested, the 'impedance' rating on headphones is designed to match to different outputs. Higher impedance means you need more power to drive them.
Most consumer level headphones are 32Ω, and professional headphones can be as high as 600Ω, which are no use for things like iPods.
Matching impedance between equipment is key to getting the highest quality sound across the whole frequency range with minimal distortion. 32Ω is best for consumer equipment like iPods.

Earmageddon...Rofl. Hey, maybe you can help me out here. I do not record with a microphone, I just make electro on Logic Studio, I also do not DJ. Im basically just looking for flat, sound accuracy, so when I play my tracks on other speakers, they dont sound all wonky. What should I get, open or closed. I want to spend around 100 bucks. Audio Technica ath-m50 OR sennheiser hd555, or maybe AKG 240. Thanks man. I love Canadians.

hey can someone help me out ... im looking for headphones that can double up for leisure use (ipod) and studio headphones ... like what was mentioned in the video ... those senns didnt provide a lot of volume when plugged into an ipod ... is there something listed in any headphone specs that would give me an idea it would be low volume? (ohms, mW, etc.) .... Thanks

sony mdr-7506 or mdr-v6... Check my review of the mdr-7506. They are 63 ohms at 1khz, which means an ipod can power them reasonably well.
