With so many scrubs capable of standing up to gold Saints I think that if Hades just did a frontal assault on the sanctuary with all the especters they would destroy all the saints and Athena.

@dennisarango81 but in the Hades saga, Kanon beat the crap out of Radamanthys before getting rid of the Gemini cloth, and Ikki could kill Aiacos.

@7mafiaguardians It's not that they died too quickly, you have to realize there is a large amount of history not covered in the lost canvas series. Did you forget the original saint seiya series had about 110 episodes BEFORE the holy war against Hades? Even if you take out Asgard which is non canon, that's still roughly 80-90 episodes. Once the holy war started Virgo, Aries, Leo, Scorpio, Taurus all died within 14 episodes. The holy war is no joke as it's the most brutal confrontation.

@lilsabin You do realize this is the holy war which in the original series didn't happen till about 115 episodes in. A good portion of Hades' armies are near gold saint quality, plus Aldebaran fought Kagaho who is his equivalent and he hasn't recuperated from severe injuries. Furthermore the judges of death are supposed to be slightly superior to gold saints (3 judges). Finally a portion of the gold saints fought Gods and won (Capricorn, Cancer). They are Athena's strongest saints for a reason.

Aldebaran was not in his best state, he still injured from his duel with Kagaho. His remaining cosmo wasn't enough to protect him from Wimber's sonar, therefore he deliberately destroy his hearing capability.

Also, the specter didn't penetrate/broke the gold cloth, he attacked through the small gap of the armor. Only gods can break the gold cloths.

@7mafiaguardians There will be about 50. However have in mind that EVERY gold saint actually will have 2 additional OVA's each for their side-stories.
