In Pack 1 Pick 1 I get a solid first pick Shield of the Oversoul, White Green anybody?
My second Pick however was a bit less exciting and a bit less obvious. However, I saw my picks with a future in base Green so, I picked out a Tattermunge Duo.
Noticing that no red-black cards had been plucked out of the pack I decided on picking out a Fist of the Demigod, with a much admirable Traitor's Roar still in the pack, and decide to lean towards a base-red strategy.
In Pack 4, as a back-up and seeing nothing to hate-draft nor anything that could help me out I resort to picking up the artifact in the pack, Scuttlemutt.
Pack 5 came by and, with a Tattermunge Duo, Morselhoarder and a Fist of the Demigod made me decide here that base-Red was the way to go, and, hey a 5th pick common aura ain't that bad either.
Seeing Pack 6 also offered me base-Red cards I was happy to pick up an Emberstrike Duo and pass.
For the sake of the Archetype a 7th pick Scar seemed to be telling me my archetype would be set and while, not exactly a Blowfly Infestation deck, could cause some pretty crazy combos.
There's that Traitor's Roar. While many, I believe underestimate the card I was able to find out later in the game that tapping two blockers and dealing 10 damage to an opponent would come in quite handy.
Seeing nothing much else in my colors I 9th picked an Ashenmoor Cohort.
Knowing now that I was just about the only one in the shop not trying to force Blue-White I 10th picked an Emberstrike Duo.
In later picks of this Pack I didn't find anything quite that exciting other than a 13th pick Traitor's Roar.
My first Pick of this Pack was ridiculously tempting seeing a Steel of the Godhead, however with a Murderous Redcap also in the Pack, I had to go towards my archetype.
With a Pack 2 Pick 2 Burn Trail things began looking up more so than just with a couple of duos.
Nothing was worth Hate-drafting or using in this Pack, so a Tattermunge Duo seemed just fine.
In Pack 4 I took the mostly undervalued Red Initiate as I believe without any blockers my games were good match, especially teamed with the Auras.
Yet again I took ANOTHER Traitor's Roar. I didn't really plan to use all of them at this point, as if I did so my mana curve would be messed up, but, that was pretty tempting.
My next pick was a bit more difficult as I faced the concept of ditching base-Red and switching to base-Black. However, I also had the chance of taking a Sootwalkers to which I decided...yes.
Still afraid of a manacost issue, but seeing nothing else I decided to pick the Sootwalkers.
With the exception of a 10th pick Smolder Initiate the rest of this pack, believe it or not, was further still, pretty bad.
Still, after collecting a Burn Trail two common Auras and the Duos I can't say I was entirely displeased.
In this 3rd Pack I was faced with the difficult choice between Burn Trail and Dusk Urchins. However, knowing it would serve me well later on, I picked the card draw.
In Pick 2 it was clear Hate-drafting a Steel of the Godhead was necessary.
In this Pick, now knowing that I could pull off Red and Black I saw no harm in picking out a Tattermunge Maniac.
Fourth Pick Burn Trail! Wow! A pretty easy pick.
Seeing nothing else for myself I hate-drafted a Runes of Deus.
A fifth pick Duo should close off my set for the deck and hey, it's not that bad for fixing mana curve either.
Knowing there was enough red in my deck a 6th pick Morselhoarder could definetly be arranged.
Seeing nothing else in this next pack worth picking I take a Manaforge Cinder partially just for the fact that it was in my colors and partially for color fixing.
A second Blistering Dieflyn for my next pick seemed to be in order for the sake of the later game, and those annoying flying blue and white creatures.
Unfortunately the rest of my picks were pretty down, but after deckbuilding I was pretty excited and ready to go.
Until next time this is the cardproffessor tapped out for now, but we'll be back soon.
I also understand that I should start working on making a time machine that can be transferred through the internet and should only operate for bringing you back 4:34 seconds back in time.

O.K. so what I've gathered from your guys's 'constructive' criticism is that I shouldn't have passed Puca's Mischief (but keep in mind 3 people before me did), I should show the cards in the pack (this was a first try so I expected some screw ups), I shouldn't value the auras so highly (which I still disagree with (Shield/Steel in 40 card deck=7/40 first hand with an average 1.1 (according to most limited players)cards per turn resulting in you getting 5/5s (and beating down your op. pretty easy

Lol portal is a really old (but also supposedly really bad) set, but nonetheless I'm sure it's fun to play with.

I would have knowing I was going base-red. But I think at that point I was expecting to go base-black (or something)
