  • I didn't learn about The Shadow from my grandmother as some of have said. I'm an old SOB and I rememberf The Shadow on my own. He was a Sunday night regular on our Zenith cabinet-style radio with a dial just like this one.

  • The Shadow is badass.

  • @MagesGuild Oh okay, thank you!

  • @1joker88 It meas 'You have to *show me*...'.

  • Oh bloody commercials...

  • 3:48 "Well I'm from Missouri"? What is that supposed to mean?

  • Haha, listening to this on New Year's Day!

  • The Shadow's ability to "cloud men's minds" came about on the radio because of time constraints that didn't allow for explanations of where the Shadow was hiding. The Shadow in the magazine stories had no special powers. To be honest, I like this Shadow better. It's kind of cool thining about being able to become invisible.

  • Thanks for posting! Love this!

  • @dickmit I heard that Mark Daly of CITY was the first morning show host on the Q. I don't think radio and tv will be the same - it's all corporate conglomarates now. Rush did their song Spirit of Radio about the Edge playing songs the mainstream wouldn't touch and CITY turned cheap tv into an artform. Speaking of the Spirit of Radio, I saw Nash the Slash perform his score for the old silent horror film Nosteratu at the Bloor years ago. Good stuff! It's the weird stuff that stays.

  • @MrDukemeister Yeah, it was a bit before your time. Johnny Spadina and the Pink Flamingo room was the show that used to be on Q in the late 70's, before they replaced it with the Sunday Night Sex Show with Sue Johannson. Spadina's was a phone-in show that also played music, catering mostly to young people like I was then. I absolutely loved it. It led perfectly into Theatre of the Mind, my first exposure to The Shadow! Good memories! Thanks for bringing it back.
