  • Fijians don't know about Marcus Garvey are Malcolm X, because its not their history our identity. Fijians have their own culture history and language they are not products of slavery our colonization.

  • @DIJV79 If this is what you believe then maybe you should research the history of these wonderful people as well as read some of their posted comments to this video. They know of their ancestry. As for Marcus Garvey and Malcolm X, you don't have to be colonized of a product of slavery to know them. The world knows Nelson Mandela but was the world a victim of apartheid. Dig deeper and do the research.

  • @CameroonStar If you research all of our ancient traditions in Africa, many of them mention these people leaving and going east towards the islands. They are the same as some of the swahilis and other east africans and mention the same homelands as a lot of us in Africa, the tribes of Sabai'i/Sawai'i, the Mahouri peoples, mariners. They often reference SAWA as their homeland in addition to Taqanyika and Egypt, just as we do.

  • @thotsins African history also explains of how many ships sailed to the west as well. That's how Mansa Musa became ruler. The original ruler appointed him and left with a fleet of ships, gold and many goods.

  • Hi, this is a very interesting video. Firstly it is good to see someone taking a strong interest in my melanesian birth place of Fiji. I would however like to know how the Fijians believe they came from Africa and why they choose Africa as their motherland? I understand that the human race came out of Africa etc but im sure it has been made clear that Fiji's original inhabitants were Melanesian, Polynesian and Lapita people who all migrated to the pacific from Asia

  • @LoveableLoser20 contact Dr/ Rashidi on his facebook. He will be more than happy to teach the information. You MUST know your TRUE history. Also, please read some of the other comments from Fijians that KNOW it.

  • I love the video..Fiji do have african roots..ofcourse no doubt.

  • @4islandbeauty - the people from Ra comes from Eqypt

  • @DIJV79 But there was slavery in Fiji during the Portugese occupation back in the 16th century and during the British colonial time.

How on earth can you state a quote so uninformed?Did you also hear about the genocide orchestrated under Bristish occupation?

You know that half of the population was exterminated and that is when they brought the Indians from India?

And Fijians do come from Africa like the Jarawa from Andaman island and the Aeta from the Phillipines.

If i am wrong correct me!

  • thank you for the vid.

  • Im part Fijian and growing up my grandfather would always tell us that our ancestors are from Egypt!

  • In order to find out the origins of these people, in addition to listening to their traditions, one must also consult the ancient african traditions and stories passed down, because our histories complement each other, mentioning a lot of the same people and places of origin.

  • @CameroonStar Yes, CameroonStar, these are our people from the same familial lineage as we are. And even all the pacific islanders came through our lineages.

They say they came from Taqanaika from the region of "VERATA." Verata is still in Africa. And have you heard their languages? It has many words in common with our languages. But westerners are trying to encourage them to abandon their traditions and say they are from asia because the asians are taking over the region. So it's politics.
