We ran a 3-car set at the Upminster Depot Open Weekend, but we didn't really need the centre car. It was sensible to have it on standby though, and because it was there, we ran it for the last hour or so on the Sunday! Unfortunately, it is too long for our Gazebo Station, so maybe the roof of the minibus was not the best vantage point for filming!
Ah. I remember the day. It was brilliant!

Yes, it was a great event, and the chap who organised it did it as part of his LU job! This country needs more like him!

with Britain being a haven for rail enthusiasts, are most of the people working for the railways train buffs themselves? In North America, love for trains seldom evolves into a career in the industry - more so in engineering or computing fields.

I certainly wouldn't say "most." There is a good scattering of railway enthusiasts within all sectors of the industry. Amazingly, the guy who organised the event at Upminster is not a railway enthusiast, but is enthusiastic about his job ... he was told to put on a good show for the punters, so he did!
