Scene by Scene - New Zealand (Weta Workshop)

Scene By Scene gets a rare tour of whats become known as Wellywood—the state-of-the-art filmmaking empire established in the New Zealand capital, Wellington, by Academy Award winner, Peter Jackson, and business partner, Richard Taylor. The best example of Weta Workshop may be Gollum from Lord of the Rings, but Taylor says the movie world is about to be stunned by James Camerons Avatar and Steven Spielberg and Jacksons Tintin which are both in production in Weta.

The Asia Pacific Screen Awards in association with CNN will again present the power and reach of Asia-Pacific film through a jointly-produced television series to be broadcast throughout October and November on CNN International in the lead up to the 2009 Awards.

Right- because the books only sold 150 MILLION copies. What are you talking about? Every single person who saw the movies knows they're based on Tolkien's books, and untold thousands of those viewers actually bothered to read the trilogy because of the movies. They're some of the most popular and well-loved books in history, Only drooling lobotomized kindergarteners could think Jackson "made" the Lord of the Rings.
