Christmas / Yule songs (Icelandic)

Yeah, I know, why upload or even think about Christmas songs when it's May! Well, I've been talking about the Yule Lads and their parents and the Yule Cat to online friends.. and i wanted to put on some songs that are about them, the first 2 are Yule Lads songs, but the third is more about that Christmas is on the way and children looking forward to it

where is the christmass spirit, these songs have like no theame, you can't reconnise it as a crismassongs if you hear it without voicees.

hahaha I guess you werent raised with these songs in your childhood.

These songs are usually sung in a group around the christmas tree with no music at all, or maybe a piano play if they have one. Sometimes the santas bring accordions.

It's very fun and very traditional here to go to a yule party where there are yule lads(santas) and hold hands in a circle around the tree and sing these songs, when I hear them I remember those parties and feel kind of sentimental ;)

My point is, this version of the songs were never supposed to have lots of music behind them, mostly just a group singing. That's how I personally think most of us remember them, with an exception of maybe if singers wanted to record it differently.

These songs have been played for us since we were toddlers,

and it's kindof just traditional christmas songs in Iceland, so we don't expect anyone to understand them.
