[This vid is R rated due to wording. If you are not old enough for R rated movies, then don't watch this.]

The title Big Vampire Smackdown comes from the HST of the Bloomington, IN vampire LARP, Fallen Idols.

See a big, bad, villain, Chandra, 6th Gen Assamite, was bringing unrest (think: carnage & chaos) to the peaceful vampire community of Bloomington. So Hadeas, very powerful Malkavian and one-time lover of Chandra's when they were in Ancient Rome together, decided it was time to stop her. This is their fight.

It took us close to 15 hours to write, choreograph, and rehearse this fight scene. The narration you hear describes the magical things that one would see if we had ILM's budget.

For those of you who have never LARPed you will notice that the people go in an out of character. This is known as IC (In Character) and OOC (Out Of Character). This is all part of the story making process that is LARP. Try it some time, it is GREAT!

CAUTIION: The "F" word is used only once and towards the end of this video however that does give it an R rating.

NOTE: As of the posting of this video, the game Fallen Idols is on probation for officially joining OWBN.

  • BRILIANT! I absolutely love it! Normally when I get a chance to ST everyone just seems to want to sit and play like it was DnD or something. It's not like the good old days when we played like "THAT"! Although we did have a different and much larger group back then and much more room to play. But even so, this video has inspired me to "try" at the very least to kick them back into shape. THANKS and once again love the movie it's going in my favorites.

  • Hooray! I am so glad that you feel inspired! Go for it and have some fun.

I think games ebb and flower too, just as creativity ebbs and flows. I hope you get and new upswing in your creativity in your group soon. :)

  • Huh. It's been so long I don't quite remember. I think the woman was 6th and the man was the same or 5th. However I am just guessing.

  • We are a good sized group. Last game, I think 35 people showed up. We have two STs - and they work HARD! Go STs!

During the movie you are watching the numbers were the same. It's a good group.

  • Wow! That's an amazing sounding game!

We enjoyed making this scene. Thanks for watching. Plus I hope you get to join another game soon. :)

  • Thank you very much!!

  • Awesome. I was just in Bloomington Indiana. I moved though but my family still lives there. x3 This was awesome. I hope to find a good larping community soon. For WOD of course

  • The reason I personally enjoy roleplaying in a tabletop setting more than LARPing is because the imagination is so much more powerful than any costumes or real life settings could ever be. I live through the stories in my mind, and it just feels more immersive and gratifying than actually going to an alley-way or an abandoned warehouse etc., where you can't actually destroy anything or do a fraction of the things you can do with your imagination.

  • hrmnn...interesting...that was friggin' insane...so I wonder how many times the eldar malk blew aegis...probably about 3-4 times...and blew a DENY....if he's got DENY...she was done from the start. lulz.

  • They also get +2 dice pools to stave off vampire AIDS whenever they feed off homeless people.

  • numina,true faith,etc

  • DOCTOR OCTAGANAPUS!

  • lovely. And I hope you are accepted into OWBN. I look forward to seeing more. :D

  • i dont see how vampire hunters would have a fair chance in this game

  • BRAIN SPLODED

  • Obviously you haven't read The Chronicle either and the Dark Lady Shaka-Khan will visit her sweet, sweet red vengeance upon thine head, oh unbeliever... Yea I pity thee, much the same was as Asgathorn did of the Gremblites after their failed Odyssey to the land of the Toe Nibblers.
