You make me imagine it all so very differently - candles instead of footlights, harpsichords instead of pianos, falsettos instead of sopranos, but I still feel the sense of theatre there -
Whose voice today could recreate that style I wonder?

@ardeladimwit oookay. I actually have to agree with brolobear. Even though this is my favourite recording of this aria, there are certain subtleties mozartian sopranos should implement, and portomento is not one of them.

I just ate my own words - I'd said Moffo would bomb at this insanely difficult aria. This is terrific - as good as Sills and Gruberova.

WOW! What SPECTACULAR SINGING! Definitely the sexiest-sounding Konstanze ever! I never knew she had such a facility for accurate coloratura. I wish she'd sung/recorded more Mozart. Her Susanna is just delicious. She would've been one hell of Donna Anna, I can imagine from hearing this.

Anna Moffo is a voice-miracle. She died in march 2006, already 4 years ago. But....she is still getting better every day!!!!!!!!! All the youtube contributions prove that.
And if still not convinced, try her Verdi/Trovatore d'Amor sull'ali rosee.
