at the end u find out the hole time hes been telling the whole story he was in the mental hospital because he could let go wat happened to his brother ally and he kept thinking of the old times at the park and stuff and the meening of the title is he the catcher at this cliff were kids play he catches them when they fall thats were the catcher in the rye came out
