  • Ahh, didnt Germany have a thing or two to do with the 'Jet Engine' ?

  • @cj54car They certainly did, as exemplified in the work of Von Ohain at Heinkel and the Junkers Jumo 004 turbojet, however Frank Whittle was the first to actually patent the jet engine design.

  • @RichardAndewSwayne Yep. but preceding the Me-262 was the He-280, which could have been in service earlier than even the Messerschmitt jet fighter in it's initial form (before it was adapted into a schnellbomber role).
