"Every religion emphasizes human improvement, love, respect for others, sharing other people's suffering. On these lines every religion had more or less the same viewpoint and the same goal."
~ His Holiness the Dalai Lama

Religious groups, as well as non-theistic ethical systems, differ greatly in their beliefs and practices. There is, however, a common thread that runs through them all. Each of these systems of belief has some example of the Ethic of Reciprocity in their teachings. The most common version of this is known as:

The Golden Rule
"Do onto others as you would have them do onto you."

  • The Golden Rule is; He who has the gold makes the rules. No disrespect to the Dalai Lama, but Not every religion has the same believe. Religion is brain wash.

  • As "Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do unto you" is listed on my FB page as one of my two favorite quotes; I was thrilled to find this. If only ... people simply would live by this Golden Rule it could truly be a beautiful world. Sadly, that is not the case - but, individually, we can live our lives that way. One person at a time. If only ... Beautiful post.

  • we are also all made out of star stuff and we have the same common ancestor as Pan Troglodytes. But anyway, I like the golden rule. You show me yours, I'll show you . . .

  • @nancyfloressantos : Thanks so much for sending this to me. It is a

wonderful message for this time of year - and should be read every day of the year.

  • The Golden Rule is the Universal Justice. "What you sow is what you reap".We live in this world once......and the best thing one can do to have eternal joy is to love his neighbors. This is the true essence of love of God.

Thanks so much for this enlightenment as shown in your video clips. It is so magnificent....my great admiration to you for posting this Universal Principle of Eternal Life. God Bless You....
