although i got a MAME, i chose NOT to install the cheats that take the fun out of these games. you know how you power drift in out run2? use that exact technique in the original here. it will work and i guarantee you'll beat this game within a month of you reading this for the first time. (22 july 2009)

It's an impressive video by all means, but it's obvious you (and other time attackers) exploit the game to maintain top speed at all times. When the developers coded the game I'm sure running off the edge of the stage and "making smoke" weren't part of the genuine experience they had in mind.
