@Canadaisthebest100 It is about landing them fast if you want them to live another day. So you keep using that 6wt idiot, I'll use my 8-10wt and give the fish the best chance it has to survive.

9wt for bones?? I've used my orvis helios 6wt numerous times for bones and had no issues at all landing 30'ers. Even landed a 18lb tarpon. w/ the 6 weight and a lamson litespeed reel. it's not all about landing em as fast as possible like you see those redneck fisherman on tv that use 25lb test for bass. HAHAHAHA.

Only the stuff i dream of,instead of sticking at home with a 7wt in some lakes and resiviours

going for bonefish in mexico at the end of december. wondering what color flies work best to catch? i make my own too! it's fun!

@rulingmedal2 México is a great place to visit in December! I assume you'll be fishing the Yucatan-Quintana Roo area, the bonefish there will take any of the usual bead-chain eye flies, but bring different sizes from (#2-#8) in case you fish real skinny or deeper water. Gotchas, charlies, clousers, crabs etc. will all be good, but also don't forget you are likely to run into permit, small tarpon and snook so bring other flies with those fish in mind. Let us know how you do and good luck!
