Im a definite Mos Def fan. In fact, I'd put Black on Both Sides in my Top 10 all-time Hip-Hop records. Love the guy! But like Kanye, he's a surprisingly bad singer. That's some nasty tone when he sings. But when he raps?--that's the top-notch shit!!!

I think Mos Def has an interesting voice. Honestly, I don't think you have to be good at singing to be a good singer. Yeah, that doesn't make any sense, but when people start to care about how good of a singer someone is I think the signing in general loses its meaning. Just my opinion, not explained very well.

@gpitts08 Yeah, okay. He's definitely got the power of personality working for him. "A voice," you might say, even if its not a singing voice. Like I said, Kanye's a terrible singer too--surprisingly bad really. But he's still the best pop artist out there.
