Coming to a street corner near you very soon, this device was "pioneered" in South Wales, United Kingdom, in 2005. Its aim is to disrupt teenage interactions in public places by emitting a loud ultrasonic signal that can only be heard by - and affect the brains of - 15-27 year-olds. Mysteriously, 21 young people of that age group have committed suicide in Bridgend, South Wales, since 2007. Coincidence?

You also have to take into account that South Wales 15-27 year-olds were historically the first teenagers ever exposed to administrative policies that decreed that they were legally detrimental pests whose social gatherings deserve to be perturbed by hi-tech means like the Mosquito. That can't be very good for self-esteem.

This video is from late April 2008, Cape Code, Massachusets.

Already more than 3,500 of those devices are in place in the UK, an untold number in the EU, and at least a thousand units have been sold in the US and Canada, according to this source: http://www.cnn.com/2008/TECH/04/23/teen.be.gone.ap/index.html

British railway authorities congratulate themselves for the fact that teenagers are disappearing around their stations but never seem to notice they actually disappear under the wheels of incoming trains.

  • A device like this should be installed in every vehicle to deter adults from driving while intoxicated. Adults who drive while drunk are much more of a danger to society than a bunch of young kids hanging out. I'm 44 and I fucking hate adults! I dream of a day when millions of kids on skateboards rise up and take over the streets!

  • @theburyboys

If you had paid attention, you would know it doesn't work on dults.

  • I must have missed it, what is the link to "the Bridgend suicides?"

  • @ChoofMonster Hahahahahahahahaha!!!!! :-)

  • I live in the County and not 'once' have I heard any young person mention hearing this device, and I'm a youth worker, so I get to meet many young people....Also, where I work, we managed to get hold of one to try it out. I'm 41, and I heard it clearly. So it doesn't work on just under 25's.

  • @b4zuk it was put it Barry i believe to start off with and you may have a different option but this doesn't hurt anybody a physical way and i am lead to belive there are noises that are louder... such as police, fire engines are you trying to say they are harming our development stages.. no it doesn't you just need to man up and take your comment somewhere else because im not replying to such a stupid thing.

  • I hate this stupid fucking device. My local spar owns one and they leave it on 24/7 even when no kids are around 99% of the time. I think most shops just abuse the fuck out of it.

  • @Masseyx3 Please provide a link to the place that informed you that this and or other frequencies dont hurt you. The very fact that this only works on kids whilst you are still developing means its causing somekind of harm.

  • it doesn't hurt or harm anybody. It's been checked and is safe for use, and is very good and has worked so many times, so all you haters take your comments somewhere else because i think it is a good idea and does work. and this is coming from a "young kid" herself.

  • my uncle has one it works on cats haha, i said to him what is this weird thing and why is it making a weird noise? he said that is to scare the cats away. coz aperantly they shit in gardens

  • He's hot.

  • @ChoofMonster I agree. In my city a local Tim Hortons has one, and it actually violates the cities bylaws. The bylaw department attempted to have them turn it off, but they simply lied to them and told them it was off. Now the bylaw department says they aren't going to be dealing with it anymore. At the same time the mayor and city council are trying to promote the city as a family friendly city. This device is aimed at and is audible within a large part of public city property.
