This series of 9 videos gives you a taste of the process of making a Japanese bow, the yumi.
In this video, nr 6 of the series, Jaap Koppedrayer shows how to set the last curve into the bow and checks the final curvature. He uses the Japanese technique of applying pressure and wedges.

  • @nichiryas opposite direction so more speed can be achieved since you have to bend it ALL the way back at full draw

  • @0xxRawr0xx0 thanks, i get it.. afterwatching some other bow making video. :)

  • @nichiryas since it's a reflex deflex bow it first bends towards the shooter than away from the shooter

  • is the bow curved in the direction of where we pull the string? or in the opposite direction?

  • awesome kinda reminds me of a dragon
