Check out FRESH, the documentary that stars Joel Salatin, at www.FRESHthemovie.com.

Joel Salatin writes in his website that he is "in the redemption business: healing the land, healing the food, healing the economy, and healing the culture." And if you visited his farm, you'd know he means it & lives it!

He produces beef, chicken, eggs, turkey, rabbits, and forestry product. Yet, Joel calls himself a grass-farmer, for it is the grass that transform the sun into energy that his animals can then feed on. By closely observing nature, Joel created a rotational grazing system that not only allows the land to heal but also allows the animals to behave the way the were meant to -- as in expressing their "chicken-ness" or "pig-ness", as Joel would say.

  • @LilMissOpinionated1 Actually evolution occurs everyday. The true definition and true examples of evolution do not include people evolving from primates, if that is what you think it means, but rather a species changing and passing the trait on to future generations. I am a christian and I definitly believe in creation but evolution does exist.

  • Joel Salatin is literally my idol and a hero to me. Much of my family is in the agriculture industry (farmers) and before taking environmental and ecology classes with my favorite teacher at my high school I very much supported conventional agriculture and the advancing crop technology. With the help of my teacher and this very man, Joel, my views have changed totally and completely. My single goal in life, at the moment, is to have my own sustainable farm after graduating from WVU. Thanks Joel!

  • Just look at the health and well being of his animals and the health of his land... Just beautiful.....

  • That's my idea of heaven....
