How to sharpen blades with the True Edge sharpening system from www.landscapeequipment.org. Sod Cutter blades and rotory mower blades

  • I sure hope that is a sod cutter blade and NOT a reel mower bedknife!If it is a bedknife, that is the worst bednkife grinder I've ever seen!But if it is a sod cutter blade, it should do just fine with care taken.

  • uhhhhh....yeah. Way to ruin the steel's temper with that horrendously fast machine. Ooooo look at the pretty blue rainbows and all the sparks!

  • You state very well the reason to use a jig: Avoid making hot spots. It allows one to take a small amount at a time over the length of the blade and not overheat the steel.

  • What type of knives do you sharpen? This was designed to sharpen blades used on sod cutting/harvesting machines...

  • If you want to sharpen anything properly you need to use a jig.
