People to thank are Stuart Martin of the Wessex Club for being so welcoming and helpful, not to mention Paul of the Dover and Folkestone Club, out here on vacation, Emily, my daughter, who deserves so much of the credit for some excellent groundshots, and Tom her partner, for being good company. It was my first visit to White Horse near Weymouth, and a great day out. My carelessness in not putting fresh batteries in after the first flight was more than compensated by some great footage Emily took from the hill, and it was my first attempt to put the two viewpoints together.

It's the second time I've used Dj Fab's music, a track called "Nova Spes", which has a real "soundtrack" quality to it, and captures the mood of a great day out on the hill. It can be found on Jamendo - a fileshare and give credit to the musician site, a boon to amateur moviemakers and a really cool concept of symbiosis and democratised music.

White Horse was as good as the site guide suggested. I guess the gorse could be a bit intimidating in scratchy conditions, but the ridge was working well, with some punchy spring thermals giving some height above take-off from time to time. The view is brilliant - a hazy blue outlook over Weymouth Bay and out to Portland. Just a great place to be with some nice folk to fly with.

Hope you enjoy.

  • You'd really like this Gary. It has some xc potential too, so the locals tell me. It's a bit like a mixture of Bo Peep and Crete Road, if I were to make comparisons.

  • I'm using a Go-Pro Hero Wide helmet cam, and my daughter used a Sanyo X-Acti from the ground. I'm really pleased with the Hero, especially since it can be operated with flying gloves on, and turned on and off in flight with minimum trouble.

  • A must do soon site.. Nice video

  • Very good, looks like a wide angle lens and the colours are vibrant, this is giving me insparation!
