this famous serenade was composed in 1875 and was 1st published in a reduction for piano in Praga 2 years later and its final version for strings was premiered in Berlin in 1879

It's hard to believe this is not a professional ensemble; there are subtle and sensitive passages with only the occasional question marks over intonation.
