i have the infinty refrence 6030cs and they are loud and clear. i run my crossover at 0db for my tweeter. I just got a pair of polk db series components for the rear and hope they sound as good. i'm waiting for some warmer weather to put them in.

@NguyenEmpir3 "Ohm" is the measurement of resistance in an electrical circuit. The Infinity speakers spec out to be around 2.7 Ohms. Feel free to call for additional assistance: 800.315.0030--Crutchfield

wth is 2 ohm?

I'm looking to run four 6.5 coax speakers from an Alpine 2-channel amp, but because these Infinitys have only 2 ohms of resistance, by combining them it will be a 1 ohm load (not including the resistance of the 16 gauge speaker wire), and this concerns me greatly. This is why I'm looking at other speaker brands that have 4 ohm impedance -- I don't want to overtax my amplifier while listening at higher volume levels at dangerously low impedance levels (the amp is rated down to 2 ohms).

@sideskraft Please accept my apologies for the delayed response. What you say is logical and certainly legitimate. I will only add that the speakers, while marketed as a 2 Ohm load, actually spec out to around 2.7 Ohms nominal. The idea is; when you include the resistance of the speaker wire and the heat of the voice coil as it begins to play, the Infinity speakers actually present a true 4 Ohm impedance. are infinity kappa speakers better than the reference?
LilFeezyFly 3 months ago
@LilFeezyFly Yes. The Kappa series are the "Step up" models from the Reference line. They generally offer more power handling, greater efficiency, better materials, and a 3 year warranty on both parts & labor. (The Reference have a 1 year warranty). @crutchfieldtv mine are fried, does warranty cover?
LilFeezyFly 2 months ago
@LilFeezyFly Please accept my apologies for the delayed response. If they are “Fried” due to a manufacturer failure or defect, then yes, you would be covered within the warranty period. If they are fried because they were overpowered or wired incorrectly, then they would not be covered. Feel free to call for additional assistance: 800.315.0030--Crutchfield
