The song is not about a man named 'Tony' per se...its more about that guy from the other night or all them other nights that you was with that was not right for you and has you wondering why you were even with him, because he was just in the way of you finding true love.

I think that this video was simple & brilliant at the same time. T.O.N.Y. being an acronym for "The Other Night Y" was the simple part. What was brilliant to me is how Solange went further than just singing about a fictitious dude named "Tony," but it was really sending a message to women out there to beware of all the 'Tony's' out there. All Solange's 'Tony' (i.e. Daniel Smith) gave her was the true love of her life, which is, of course, her son, Julez. It's ballsy & that's Solange.

When I first heard about Solange, I assumed she was just another LaToya Jackson. Boy was I wrong! This kid is REALLY good.

@cfg22 it actually is boo. Her baby's father Daniel. Footballer I believe. She knew him since she was 14. And that at the end was their son. ;)
