Here is a quick peek inside my Zumba class. It's just 9 minutes of the one hour work out. It's fun, and GREAT exercise!

Zumba isn't a dance class. It is a fitness class. If someone was really that concerned in making sure the steps where perfect they would be taking ballet. Zumba is an easy to follow fitness program where you literally follow the steps move for move. As Long as you keep moving it will provide results. There is no right or wrong way to do Zumba. If instructors stopped between each song to teach all the steps it would defeat the purpose of having a cardio dance program. It takes time to get the ha

Hi Angela - thanks! I'm actually wearing Jazz Sneakers. They are designed for easy movement on the hardwood floor. There are a lot of pivots and twists in Zumba and the less traction on your shoes, the better! Thanks for your concern! :D

You do it really well Sashia, wouldn't some kind of gym shoes, trainers, be more comforable? It looked as though you were wearing street shoes though of course this may not be the case, hard to see clearly. I thought the instructor just looks as if she is really enjoying herself, not selfish, looks like great fun! Wish I could join. If the people at the back continue, they will learn!

This is what we need more of in fitness! The reason Americans hate or don't want to exercise is because it's boring and repetitive and gives no incentive for them to want to exercise! And some people just plain don't like sports! It's dirty and rough and not fun at all! Stuff like this gives them a nice fun way to enjoy exercise. :)

Come on, give this lady a break, if you don't think what she is doing is a hard workout just try it. And look at her, whatever she does really works. Go Teach.

And, on a personal note... This FITNESS INSTRUCTOR...is FAR from egotistical. Just because she has a great physique doesn't mean she's self-centered.

You are a dance TEACHER....you TEACH DANCE... this is a FITNESS PROGRAM...not a DANCE CLASS. One of the people on these comment threads said it perfectly. So I'm quoting: (in another comment reply)

yes well, as a dance teacher..I have to say that it is the teacher who is at fault...she is on her own ego trip and has no idea what her pupil's are doing....even if she has a mirror she is not looking, or stopping to help or correct...there are so many so called teachers/trainers like that out there. And good on that lady in green, at least she's got up to go and is giving it her best shot!

She'll learn, it's most probably her first time. Although our instructors start with part on the move and then add hands, sit ups and other things, then add other steps to create a dance. It's much easier this way, and that doesn't defeat the purpose of moving all the time and working out. And our dances are more fun than this one, for sure!
