Yes, he was on Lucy, but on the Lucy-Desi Comedy hour. It is the episode where they go to Mexico, and he is a shop owner, he haggles with Lucy and Ethel for a basket.

The painter was in TONS of stuff from the 1960's & 70's....Italian character actor Vito Scotti played Dr. Boris Balinkoff (the mad scientist) in two *classic* episodes of Gilligan's Island....And, perhaps most significantly, he played Enzo the baker (the guy who's asking for the favor) in the classic opening scene of The Godfather!

@bearbrien I could have sworn he was on it, but on imdb it says he was never on "i love Lucy". He's been on plenty of television shows as a guest star.
