Have been reading your comments now, and after living in Spain, Greece and Italy and seeing the way people there generally treat Brits, cannot really avoid asking myself are the Brits really the most naive people in Europe?

I live in Brooklyn and I have a bridge for sale .. Shure , Shure, knobody knew anything !!!! More than half of all the properties in Spain are built Illegally. My parents built a house in Spain and it took them over two years to do the paperwork legally while their neighbors had built and were already living in their homes illegally. NOW those neighbors homes are being torn down but my parents home is there legaly .. TEAR them all down.. They thought that if they just lived there long enough.

This is how things are done people....why do you think i choose self-exile ? People who love their countries are been accused to be racists, fascists, nationalists etc etc... MY country is been bleeding for years and years...because bad people still run MY country... things like that happends not only to foreigners but also to autochtons. It is just because those people are abusing their powers.

I'm not talking about houses builts ilegally aigainst the enviromental normative, of course that happens. I'm talking about there's houses that is going to be demolish only for money and new urbanistic plans

I live in San Juan de Aznalfarache, Sevilla. Here the Mayor would demolish dozen of homes to built hotels and avenues. After a long year of social fight with the CNT we have win and this will not happen.

In Spain there is a lot of illegal constructions (allowed by corruption) and a lot of fascist demolitions of houses that have been built legally. This is a madness.

@Pwecko you are right, crooks from the top to to the bottom, but mostly from the top. They do this to their own people on a regular basis, it's sickening, and I'm half Spanish/half brit.

I think it was very good that the Ambassador turned up. Of course he can not make such a promise.

BUT the Spanish Government has a lot to answer for and the corrupt Mayors etc.. should be sacked AND made to pay some recompense in financial terms to the people being cheated. SO they know how it feels.
