I can't convey how much I miss the original Late Night with Letterman. It was edgy, original and real...and funny as hell, unlike the crap he sadly started doing after he got the shaft from NBC in the whole Tonight Show fiasco.

chris elliott is so underrated, its sad. its so not fair.
like that rolling stone salute to comedy issue said about him "meet the original man-child who inspired a generation of slacker comics to not grow up - and never got credit for it."

@zigzagbigbag I still remember that one. It was the gentlest bunny you'd ever want to see.

Late Show is now beating the Tonight Show in the ratings btw.

@abehammy Conan was sort of on the same wavelength as the old Letterman show

Yeah `Letterman never does any of the funny shit he used to.He used to go out in the streets and just have funny interactions with people. `like going through the Mcdonalds drive through and ordering the veal chop.No real originality it's all the same as any other late night talk show

@hariseldon59 His early years on CBS were pretty good.By then they still did the Remote segment and still had a little bit of edge to it although they had to tone it down more for the 11:30 audience. but his show now, like SNL is the bland verson of what is used to be, and MTV is nothing like it used to be. Television in the 80s seem much better

Get a life was a great show!!!

Chris Elliott mimics Jack Hanna as he brings out a "Rastafarian Snow Leopard" actually, a rabbit in swimming trunks. Anyone have this? Please upload very funny bit.

@hariseldon59 Wow, sounds like I would have had a blast watching it at night if I were born around the time it was playing. I got to experience Conan's Late Night show and loved it but I still would want to experience Dave's on TV
what was the difference between late night with dave letterman vs. the late show?

@abehammy Late Night aired on NBC from 1982 to 1993 in the 12:30 AM time slot ; Late Show has aired on CBS at 11:30 PM slot since 1993. Light Night was edgier and more creative than Late Show, with an anything goes type of feel to it. Dave did crazy theme shows, remote segments, silly stunts (putting on a velcro suit and sticking to a wall), bizarre things with technology (strapped a camera to a monkey and had him run around the studio), etc. YouTube has many Late Night videos you can watch.
