This was something I recently discovered, which amazed me considerably, even more than my discovery of Blue Cat (however this is something more people are likely to pay more attention to) "Let Mom Sleep" was a track made by Hideki Naganuma for SEGA's game Jet Set Radio back in the year 2000, the creator kept the original tracks used secret, though I happened to discover one of the original sources by accident while listening to an episode of the classic British Radio Comedy Hancock's Half Hour. So now I am filled with questions...Why and how did Hideki come across and use a track from a classic British Comedy? It must have taken ages for him to get his hands on it...

Anyway, in this video first you hear the original clip as well as some extra to prove its identity from the show, then it moves on to "Let Mom Sleep" itself, from Jet Set Radio. The man who's face I put instead of main character Beat's IS Tony Hancock's himself, representing the origins I am presenting in this video.

  • Dang. I like this. This is funky, wish it was on the JSRF ost. and it seems that 1 person didn't let mom sleep...this is most disturbing.

  • @willmaster93 =D yes indeed, they messed it up in JSRF X_X; along with That's Enough >.<;

  • 1 person didn't let Mom sleep.

  • @Tyrone181 Heh that's the first time I've gotten one of those kinds of comments on my video, thanks for the compliment =P

  • @NeoEpzilon I completely agree. His music really is a hidden treasure and hopefully one day a lot more people will realise it.

  • @Cerpin1 Thank you. Hideki is quite amazing :).

  • @NeoEpzilon Very interesting

  • What's more interesting is how his musical styling is about to even penetrate urban american music. Rapper T-Pain wrote and produced an interesting record called "This Instant" that leaked recently that I believe was inspired by Hideki Naganuma. T-Pain was probably high and playing Jet Set Radio when he got the idea for the song.

    I noticed it when I first heard the record, but of course when I went babbling about it no one knew what I was talking about.
