During the mid 60's I spent a couple of years in the San Francisco bay area. I cherished the memories of time spent at Vallejo Speedway during my early teen years. This is some rare footage of an era long gone. A tribute is deserving here to the "Hardtop" drivers of Vallejo Speedway that gave us such great memories. Enjoy.

Hello Tina. Many years ago I was given a VHS copy of this film from a gentleman in Kansas. His name I cannot remember. He said he use to own a race car and Paul Stornetta use to drive for him at Vallejo Speedway. There is more home movies of your grandfather on the tape. At one point shows the camera is mounted on the roll bar as he raced around the track. The film comes to a halt when he plows into a spun car in the middle of the track. This is really great footage. Thank you for your post.
My grandpa is Gil Richardson. This is my grandma LuAnn's footage & at the end, it is my Grandpa's car being put on the trailer with my two aunts standing in front. My Mom is Cheri Hill & has raced for 15 years. My Dad is Fred Arriaga & my bro is Shawn Arriaga. If it wasn't for my grandpa we would have never got into racing. It's our life & a family hobby that gets us together every weekend. I have my grandpa to thank for getting me into wrenching on cars! How did you get this by the way?
Laryy Damitz was still racing as of a few years ago (Petaluma). I remember watching Phil Pedlar at Calistoga Speedway in the late seventies. Awesome footage! Thank You!
Thank you for bringing back some great memories I was in the pits with #85 Duane Brookings and I remember taking a tire off my truck and use it on the right front when Duane blew his. Those were the Days!!
never apologize for the quality of a rare treasure. My uncle raced at Vallejo for years Gary Newman, I remember freezing my keester off watching Phil bang bang and steve mentch I almost cried seeing this video. Thanks for keeping a piece of history alive
