  • Yeah, I guess it's the "ballanced piston" tubes (the two little red pipes on the front of the cylinder heads) that give it such an unusual appearance. Turns out that to reduce wear, the europeans would actually have steam cylinders with rods coming off both sides. Here's a little secret: after coming to the U. S., they took out the balanced cylinders and put in plain ones; the tubes are just there for show!

  • @TheMadkitties1 thanks for info. ya them eropeans did weird stuff. the germans built some steam engines that ran at like 1000 psi or osmething. Im happy with 80 in the boiler haha
