This is my 2nd video, i had gotten some questions about doing an ab video and just so happened to be doing side bends with a client and decided to film.

This is the Side bend exercise, which is performed by holding a weight in one hand and "bending" laterally at the core. You need to get a solid base (feet shoulder width or a bit wider pointed straight forward) so that the side of the body with the weight can be used to anchor yourself into the ground stopping you from toppling over. Lean directly to the side and avoid not trying to bend forward or backwards while performing the motion. constant bending and twisting is very hard on the back and can lead to some pretty painful injuries.

When i do the movement i make a point to not only lean to the side the weight is on but i try to lean away from the weight as well i feel this works both sides more and since one side is unweighted it makes it more challenging to stabalize in the core region helping get a little extra work in! As always keep in a nice and controlled smooth motion and really squeeze the muscle at the end of the crunching contraction

Follow me on twitter at @FitAdvice for daily: tips, motivational quotes, stats, facts, and info about exercise/fitness/dieting i also answer questions so follow me!

I hope you enjoy the video and as always theres more to come!
