  • I see the delta lady is still here through people funding her.........tradbgon has gone so i reckon he must of choked on his words....good riddance, still cant stop watching the opening sequence to this video.........she looks amazing loosing altitude at speed with her airbrakes out and the mountain as a backdrop ....AWESOME.

  • Thanks you for your kind comments. Being directly involved with Avro Vulcan XH558 has given me some amazing chances to film this beautiful aircraft since her return to flight in Oct 2007. I have to say though this is still one of my all time favourites. For more info about XH558 and how you can help keep her in the air please contact me at

  • olympus engines i understand are the ones that powered the concordes similar but updated sooped up and of course fitted with afterburners for macht 2 cruising aircraft the afterburners on the Concordes where mainly used at takeoff andto climb above 35,000 feet and exceed macht 1 and get to the thinner air at 55,000 60,000 feet or so i beleive and then could be turned off for good flying range

  • Yes thats right all the testing work for Concordes Olympus 598 engines was done by Vulcans. The Olympus engines fitted to XH558 are the 202 series these were the mid power engines.

  • According to the VulcantotheSky website, it needs to raise 630,000 quid in the next 75 days to remain solvent. One wonders if Lottery would have given 6 mil to VTS if Lottery had known VTS couldn't pay for operating costs, or if Lottery had known VTS would need this huge amount of annual donations just for operations.

  • @Joeaviation1712

Someone with no taste in historic aircraft, I bet.

  • I love that backdrop of the mountains as she flies in

  • How the hell has someone managed to dislike this video? Seriously...

  • What a backdrop. Amazing!

  • @264flight This is the perfect place to see the Vulcan because you have no view restrictions. Unlike when I went to Goodwood the other week but I got one good bit which I have stuck on here below. Was luckt to be in the right plaCE REALLY. CAn you tell me, does she have afterburners cause thats what I said in the footage cause I was carried away. Listen for my little boy shout "DAD" at 8secs. Barely here it LOL.
