This music file is provided to you by Nina ( Baroquefever ).

Information: Recorded in Sydney, Australia on July 25th 2007. Sopranista Philippe Jaroussky sings Alto giove near the end of the concert after performing several other pieces.

Words:

Alto Giove
è tua grazia è tuo vanto
il gran dono di vita immortale
che il tuo Cenno sovrano mi fà

Ma il rendermi poi quella
già sospirata tanto
Diva amorose e bella
è un dono senza uguale come la tua beltà.

  • Wow... yet again, wow. Who composed this?

  • Nicola Antonio Porpora, singing teacher and composer.

  • Can't believe a guy is singing this...He's certainly stunning.

Though I still prefer the artificial blending of voices they did for the movie. It had a certain surpassing sharp clearness to it.

  • @irismichael è come sempre: de gustibus non disputandum est! Per me Jaroussky canta come un angelo - und außerdem ist er vom streng Musikalischen her wirklich ein Musiker und meckert sich nicht in die Höhen wie andere! Mi scusi tanto!

  • jaroussky è tecnicamente perfetto e emotivamente sublime ...

  • @irismichael bah, non sarò un'esperta, ma a me sembra il contrario: Manzotti stridulo e poco autentico ed espresso. Jaroussky mette i brividi.

  • you mean this guy : watch?v=vMhiySp4zfc ? *coughs*

  • SUBLIME

  • A sopranist is still a countertenor, it's generally used in referance to those who specialise in a soprano-like range, which isn't entirely true in Jaroussky's case, he'd be best described as a mezzo sopranist. Many counters sustain these pitches very well, just Jaroussky preffered repetoire is quite notable for lingering within the higher alto range.
