Yaesu FT-2000 preamp repair part 2. I used alcohol and a small acid brush to wipe off excess flux. Then I used a small piece of paper towel on the end of the dry brush to wipe up the alcohol. Webpage links are case sensitive!

  • Thank you Mike I have watched all of your well done videos and they explain a lot of what Yaesu doesn't want to admit!.. Bought a brand new FT-2000 in Feb 2011 pre-amp failures in July , returned from Yaesu 1st of Aug then Pre-amp failures on Sept. 4th this is ridiculous for the cost of this transceiver- FT-2000 = RFI Magnet or an expensive 2SC3356-T2B R24 Popcorn Maker.. You be the judge! Also See QRZ com forums survey center FT 2000 series pre-amp problems- check it out

  • Excellent video - Interesting... yet disconcerting; that a radio as expensive and complicated is likely to be trouble-prone right out of the box. I've got a used ft-897 - it seems to be having issues on ssb - So, I'm looking for a new radio... Hopefully one that won't need to be repaired soon after buying it.
