Top Gear (SNES): Useful Trick

Hi everyone.

Everybody who has played Top Gear for the Super Nintendo on Championship skill level knows that the AI becomes a pain on the butt. All the cars block your way, and they are faster than you! I bet that you cannot even place yourself on the top 5 on a race! In the end, they kick your slow butt out of the championship, because you cannot get the points needed for the next country. However, around 15 years ago, one of my cousins discovered a very useful trick. This trick lets you become two places on a race (For instance, the first and second) therefore, you get the points of both!

When you are about to finish the final lap of a race, crush into one of the sides of the "start" gate, as it is shown on the video. When the scores are shown, you will be doubly placed on the list (On this case, I became first and second place =D). You have to practice a lot, because you have to crush on a exact angle of one side! IF you do this trick right at least on 2 races, you will be fine to get to the next country.

What happens if the 3rd (2nd) Place do the same thing?

@noiseadicted If the first place has already pass the Goal, and the second player does this trick, he/she will get the second and third place also. This trick takes the place you are supposed to get and one bellow too.

one of my favorite things to do in this game back when i used to play against my cousin was having him pick the white car (great acceleration but slow top speed) and have myself using the red car (slow acceleration but highest top speed) and boost his ass with a nitro in the rear. his slow car running at the same speed top speed as mine made for some seriously funny lolz back then.

yeah, my cousin discovered this trick (remember there were not too many houses with internet access at that time), the first time he did it we were like O_o WTF HAX! xD

but it was too funny the first time... just the first time... lol
