That's a problem with your girlfriend, not the technology.
-
Bitch then throw away you're cell phone and use the Phone that is connected to you're house.
-
Here in UK its against the law to be on the phone while driving, but today I saw someone doing it.

Cell phones are a great tool. If you are riding around and breakdown, you can call someone to come help. If you are running late to a meetup with friends, you can call while on the road. Problem is these days the cell phone has become an entertainment device and as such is used and abused... I don't text, I don't surf the web, I don't play games on my phone. I find it irritating to even try. Mainly cause I'm an old fart and can't see the bloody screen. lol

I could'nt agree more, I have and old phone without internet, because I don't need it, if I want to talk to my friends, I just go visit them, because it's more personal, and you always get offered free food, so bouns !

I totally agree with you, technology has help keep in contact with all but then the core friends and family start to suffer.. and also the thing about the car, drives me nuts.. i'm driving with my girl and want to spend some time talking with her, but she's texting her friend and ignoring me... wtf?!?!

@lauriejennifer I think of 50cc bikes as fun little happy meal toys compared to faster ones. im thinking of selling mine infact. Indiana thinking of changing the laws. forcing plates, and insurance on 50cc and up. right now its just have a ID and be atlest 15. if i have to pay on it i might as well have something faster. More work i plan to put on it should make me half of what i want to buy next. :D

as simple as, cell phones and social networcks come to those who are far and away to those who are close...

Even though I have a smartphone I never really cared for having a phone. I don't call ppl and they don't call me. I can go MONTHS without one....my dad always told me to use the phone in an emergency and that's what I do. I send letters to friends if they live in a place where there is no cellular service. I know some ppl that treat their phone like its their entire lives and if they don't have it for a week then I have to hear then whine and cry about it -_____-

I'm not that old but I still remember when mobile phones were still new and most people didn't have one. Whenever I wanted to hang out with my peeps I just walk to there house to see what they were doing. And we had a meeting place after school everyday to get the 411 on what plans ect. It was alot more fun that way because you got off your butt and did stuff.
I disagree. I have this cool feature called voicemail. If I'm with a friend talking and hanging out and I get a call...with the press of one button the call is dumped to voicemail. Most of the time I have mine on vibrate and the person I'm with has no idea I have an incoming call. I guess its all in how you use the technology. If someone is blowing up my phone...yeah I'll answer it. Otherwise....it can wait

@p0kerp1aya You bring up a great point. It is definitely an issue of boundaries.
However, I must admit I miss the days of literally being out of touch. If I was driving somewhere, or meeting with a friend, you literally could not call me, even on vibrate. It makes life more immediate, less distracting, etc. I just miss it, that's all.
My phone is often off. People complain when they can't get a hold of me. :-/

I agree with you, cept i love my advance phone. ill still love it when it transformers back into a little persocom like Sumomo:P (yeah anime charr). anyways lol, i don't do Facebook often. i love to meet ups but all my friends live too far. for example it be kick ass if i lived in the same state as you. could do joint rides and joint videos now and then. (granted if i also had a bike that could keep up instead of my wimpy 50cc lmao)

@TroyFoxxin Social networking is nice for keeping in touch with those deeper friends you have while they're away. My best friend is in Ecuador right now and I really miss her. I think the healthy boundary, though, is to not be sending her a message *while I'm with a present friend*.
And 50cc's are a blast! I would love to have one to kick around, and for days when my bike is under the weather.

First! Ohhh LJ, I wish that the world was cowboys and Indians again, it sounds awesome, though I was never admittedly there.

@Dogfacerawr I'd take a horse over a motorcycle. If you think you feel "connected" to your "machine," just imagine the friendship you'd have with a horse.
