well Russian media (which is all state owned) has been chastising Saakshvili 24/7. Putin himself declared in one of the interviews that Saakashvili was using coke and russian channels did the unbelievable montage/editing of Saakshvili blowing his nose. They have had so called psychiatrists analyzing Saaksvili behavor problems and even astrologists predicting dark future for him. Even Russian creativity has limits and they are not sure what else to make up. Like u said, it backfired on Russia

I see that all the people making anti saakshvili comments are from Russia. He is a bright guy, who stands up for democracy and tolarence. Putin hates him, because he is a former KGB operator, who stands up for totalitariasm, monopoly and who has Soviet mentality. Saakashvili is smarter then Putin and that is the reason why everybody supports him, while the only support Russia got, was Nicaragua LOL

It's revealing how isolated Russians are in this as well. The harder they attack him the more popular he gets in Europe and the US and you can just feel (and read ) the Russian frustration about this increase .
Even the press in Europe was amazed how the popularity of a man people hardly knew a couple a months ago soared this significantly.
I guess Russia did not pay attention to what happened when certain people tried to demonize Bill Clinton lol
