I have both the Merkur HD and the short handled Merkur Progress and I favour the Merkur Progress. I find the Progress gives a gentler shave than the HD when dialled down. The HD is an aggressive razor so it requires good technique with an experienced user. The HD is a very good razor in the right hands.

I also have the HD.. because you can go milder with the Progress than the HD, I would suggest the progress..

and lastly the HD is a good razor , but its not adjustable

Thanks for your video Whitwarf29,

I shave with a safetyrazor for almost a half year now and I like this new way to shave ver much. I have a merkur progress long handle and several other adjustable safetyrazors like: the old vintage gillette fatboy and slim twist safety razors from the 60ties.

You give a lot of information i didnt get from other video's about the merkur progress! Thanks for your video and keep on the good work!
