  • Hey! Cool vid! Could you clue us in on the streamer length? Is primary voltage 4kV or did you put a doubler on it?

  • This was two mots w/ voltage doubler. In tune, I was achieving 48" arcs. This video shows about 42" arcs.

ok take a mot and cut all of the windings off, then wind like 30 turns on the core, you will have to experiment with how many turns. but that seems to be a good ballest,

or just find a really big mot, the tend te be current limited around 60 or 700watts and do not heat at all.

  • I've used a rotary gap with 4xNST's in parallel and never cooked one, just make sure you have a safety gap between the NST's and the rotary...

  • I have a NST coil, 12kv 30 ma, with 29 inch streamers, I want a rotary gap, but it will destroy my nst... what could I use to limit the current MOT's would draw from my mains? I have already toasted one outlet...thanks
