  • What happened to no weight on wheels??? Are They just not that sensitive or what?

  • @Allanvh5150 aaah okay. this is what i've been trying to point out though: wether the aircraft is stationary or moving..the angle of attack doesnt change without pitching up or down reguardless of the airspeed.

  • @evrolicious I am a few years past ground school, what I should have said was "a stationary aircraft has no angle of attack" i.e. zero.

  • @Allanvh5150 there is no angle of attack if there is no oncoming wind. its not 0 degrees..it's nonexistent. i'm done with this discussion. come talk to me after your first day of ground school.

  • @evrolicious Stationary aircraft have a 0 degree angle of attack.

  • @crashz71 Least understood? Angle of Attack is almost the FIRST thing you're going to be taught in any flight training class, period, and you're going to keep learning about it until you get your CFI. Airspeed can't change your Angle of Attack, the only thing it changes is less airspeed = less lift, which means you have to increase your AoA to maintain your elevation, which means you get closer to a stall. You're critical AoA won't change, though, whether your doing 50 knots or mach 1.

  • @crashz71 if the aircraft while stationary has an angle of attack of 90 degrees then that means that the wing is providing lift at 0 airspeed! which would be impossible. :P

  • @crashz71 i disagree. if the aircraft is stationary, then there is no relative wind resulting in no angle of attack. once the aircraft is moving, the angle between the wing and the relative wind will remain constant regardless of how fast the relative wind is coming toward the wing until a change in pitch, or surface controls is applied.
