The Urantia Book was published in 1955. These highlights are from a presentation by Halbert in April 2008 at Denison University's World Religions class. Part I provides some clips from his introductory remarks and some responses to questions from students. Part II covers the presentation of the Garden of Eden material. Halbert was asked by the professor to prepare syllabus material for the New Religions section of her World Religions course. This syllabus is freely available at UBtheNEWS.com. The UBtheNEWS project, launched by Halbert in 2007, documents how new discoveries and scientific advances are catching up to historical and scientific information in the Urantia Book. Especially in the last ten years, new discoveries have been increasingly verifying information in the Urantia Book that was either in conflict with or not yet addressed by scholarship when the book was published in 1955.

  • Well done. I purchased the Urantia book many years ago, and in fact on the same day I also bought a book by Alastair Crowley, entitled: "The Tree of Life".

I have found the Urantia to be most insightful at the very least. Nice vid.

  • @KillBaddBugz Thanks!

  • The Urantia Book was first published in 1955 in English.

  • 33,000 years that must be a little hard for creationalists to swallow. I am a little confused as to were the figure of one million human beings comes from and when. Also the term Mediterranean, if this is a translation how was it based, was it just the word or were some kind of compass references used and how can these be said to be correct in today's terms?

  • The Urantia Book was first published in 1955 in English. There are no maps or diagrams that come with the original presentation of the material in the book, which claims a host of "angelic" authors. This is the apparent reason it is able to provide so much historic information before we have a chance to discover that knowledge for ourselves. No one claims to have written it. It is a free gift to humanity.

  • Could Cyprus be the land of Nod or possibly Atlantis?

  • Two tectonic plates converge in that area. Cyprus is on the northern one. The peninsula description fits what is on the southern tectonic plate. This is the strongest evidence suggesting that Cyprus was probably not part of Eden. In all likelihood, Cyprus rose up when the south plate slipped below the northern one. More research remains to be done on this subject.

  • I can find evidence of a real garden as described by the Chronicles of Narnia. That doesn't mean the underlying story is true.

  • Very interesting subject

  • nice work you all!

  • good job

  • Fascinating!

  • Believe it or not...Turkey was connected to Africa. The three colors (Red, Green And Blue) on the map(3:00), is the time sequences of the land dividing. Check Peleg ...it was during his time.
