This is an excellent reading of an outstanding song! It's said that the national anthem is a song that everybody sings but few sing it well, and that is also true of this song! And you sing Red is the Rose very, very well!! You have an engaging tonal quality to vour vocals, and I would like to hear a tad more stregnth and emotion in your delivery. That's not a criticism, just a preference on my part. Good job!!

Love your version john, well done, sounds great with dadgad! i m starting with fingerpicking, have you any suggestion for strings to use on my folk guitar?

Glad you like the song. Regarding strings, I tend to use heavy gauge Martin.
