I used to have a huge crush on Vanity when I was 9 years old! She was the black Marilyn Monroe of the 80s. A natural, sexy beauty that Hollyweird didn't know what to do with and they almost killed her! Vanity was the baddest female to do it! Trina? Nicki Minaj? Beyonce? Rihanna? Lol!!! None of those chicks can even touch her! Much respect to Denise Matthews! Bless up!

In my opinion, Vanity was the only true love of Prince's life, but she was too much woman for him. In spite of his effeminate outfits and over-attention to his hair & makeup, he likes to keep women under his thumb and control them. Vanity is not that kind of woman. She went along with it at first because she was in love, and love can cause temporary loss of common sense. But she got smart after a while and saw the writing on the wall.

@AndItShallComeToPass I agree! Tatiana Thumbtzen, the woman who was in Michael Jackson's The Way You Make Me Feel video said in her book that she and Denise Matthews were friends who met while both were modeling in Japan. She stayed with DM for a while, and said that one time DM had to go out of town and gave Tatiana strict orders not to pick up a certain red phone if it rang. Tatiana said she thinks that's the phone Samuelle, I mean Prince called DM on. She had a special phone line for him :)

@AndItShallComeToPass Yes, she spoke about Prince, and of course Michael Jackson. She said some verrrrry interesting things about Robert De Niro as well. To find out, you'll have to get her book The Way He Made Me Feel. Buy Blame It On Vanity first!
