i dont see what the big deal is. even if the play was legal, he still got tagged. if the runner was trying to play it off like he wasn't tagged, then he has no place in baseball.

@chuckfan1 It's a little league game, Most diving and things like this are illegal. I was once playing where I was running, kid was in the baseline, he was going to catch the grounder, so to avoid him (so i didn't hit him and hurt him, not to avoid an out) I tried to run behind him. He backed up into me, made me flip over him, I got to the base before anyone tagged me, and SOMEHOW I was called out. If I did it on accident and was called out, this guy is out.

how is this a amazing play?

the right knee grazes the glove ... if you stop at 0:14 you can see his hand below the glove, which will cover the fielders face later in the scene but ... he tagged him right there

it seems to me, chuckfan, that you're quoting part of a rule but ignoring the other part. I think that, "as long as the fielder is lying on the ground" is a big deal for safety reasons. NFHS state it this way because in the situation in this video, if a cleat were to catch the fielders face, he could lose an eye or possibly worse. It's a safety thing. In the casebook, situation 8.4.2 situation T and U, they both say that hurdling etc. over a fielder that isn't lying on the ground is illegal.
