A leaking garbage disposal can usually be attributed to a problem with the gasket between the disposal connector and the sink, or between the locking ring and the drain. Find out how to use a screwdriver to tighten a compression ring with help from a remodeling specialist in this free video on garbage disposals.

Thank you so much. Just wondering, approximately how much would it cost to replace the entire thing? Ours keeps leaking from the bottom in one spot and we bought that might putty from an infomercial. Would that help for a while?

thanks! The compression ring on top was hard to get "threaded" but I finally got it to go flush and it tightened. Leak fixed!! THANKS!!!!

Thanks for this clear video!! I've installed these myself, but it has been many years. So I bought the sink gasket, but then thought to look on Youtube for a video and found yours. I had forgotten about the fact that the compression ring itself, that holds the disposal to the gasket, can get loose. Sure enough, a free, 10-second repair, thanks to your help!!
