Proving that prayer is superstition

You're thankful that you lack the intellect to question the world around you? I won't need an excuse. If there is a god come this "Judgement Day," and I have lived a full life full of good deeds, and (s)he decides to throw me in a fiery pit just because I doubted his/her existence, then I don't want to be with them anyway. That isn't a loving god who cares about the choices you make in life. That's a scare tactic people created to get you to be a good person and give money to the church.

Thanks for the criticism, mate. My "excuse" is that God has helped me out through life and answered my prayers and such. To me, it's completely obvious that God does exist and it makes no sense how we got to where we are today if there was no God. I just can't grasp that concept (thankfully). So its not really an excuse but rather a reason. What will be your excuse/ reason when your standing in front of God on Judgment day for not believing in Him and our messiah Jesus?

Exactly. They're kids. So they have a valid excuse to believe in things that don't exist. They don't have the intellectual power yet to logically debate whether or a not a magical being that gives them treats exists. So, what's your excuse? I guess your name says it all.

@snarkygenius01 Because while he's an all loving God, he also has to do what has to be done, which makes him just. If a murderer is standing before a judge and says "I'm very sorry for the murder I committed" and he means every word, is the judge going to let the murderer off just because he's sorry? No. He's going to give the murderer time in jail because the judge has to do what has to be done. God is the same way only at a much higher level.

So are you saying that God is being a selfish bastard and not giving the hungry dying kids soemthing to drink and eat? So God is saying "fuck you all until Jesus comes" What about the cancer patients? They die a painful and horrible death. Why doesnt God reach down and cure even one of them?

No I'm not saying that God is being selfish because that would be going against what God is. Perfect, all loving, and just. As for your other questions, I'm sorry but I just can't answer those. I don't know how God thinks. Only He can answer those questions for you. Try asking Him yourself. You may not get the answer you want but he will answer in one way or another.

it's pretty sad that you've been reduced to explaining these things to children, and they STILL DON'T GET IT! i wanted to start an atheist club at my school, but i'm thinking it's not even worth it. fundies are beyond reason.

You're assuming that believing more = being open minded, and that's not true. Being open minded means not rejecting other people's valid opinions or cultures just because they're different. Rejecting false information is what makes you sane and has no bearing on open mindedness. If somebody believes in the easter bunny, they're foolish, not open minded. If somebody thinks they can fly, they're foolish, not open minded. If somebody believes in (g)(G)od(s) they're foolish, not open minded.
