AB005 Capstone Assignment Sypnosis

This video showcases our recommendations to the Phase 0 Simmons project.

The first part of the video highlights the key aspects of IDEO's Phase 0 process and identifies the need for better client engagement.

We then propose recommendations to 1) Integrate marketing propositions from Simmons and product design from IDEO in Phase 0B to create new products in line with what clients seek and 2) Deliver a tangible prototype in Phase 0C.

We suggest adopting this client-focus approach to regain Simmons' confidence in IDEO and to enhance future client engagements.

Great job. I'm a theatre student yet I could understand it so that must speak a lot with regards to the presentation's clarity

Some terminology may not be entirely understood by a layman. I felt that terms such as 'IDEO' and 'phase 0' could have been explained better so that anyone can watch this and understand what is being said without having prior knowledge of the subject matter

The video was done well. Excellent choice of music and display of the credits/titles. It was hip

and funky and would definitely catch the eye of Gen Y-ers. Camera work was good. Panning shots such as the one at 3:33 show variety and deviates from a standard, straight-up presentation. Its not just about what you can do but how you do it

Voice synch a bit off. Equipment fault?

Overall a very succinct presentation. Obviously a lot of effort has gone into this. Oh and if "Presenter's Appearance" is part of the assessment criteria you ladies would score full marks in that section

i think u both spoke v well! v approachable and professional. tho i hv a suggestion - perhaps u might like to move the backdrop to places outside of the design classrooms. corridors (u alr did it) and open spaces etc might juz add tat extra sparkle. an idea for yr future vids. cheers!

Response to BYZJ:

In phase 0b, we propose that IDEO presents all possible market segments they have gathered from their field research to Simmons. Simmons can then determine the target market that best fits their corporate strategy and product line.

The phase 0b process should also take into consideration complementary marketing propositions from the Simmons team, such that the proposed new product would be in line with the client's strategic direction.
