  • @6:58 How do you do that?

  • @masterapmark You push Crtl R. A purple line will come up. This is called a loop cut. When using Subdivision surfaces you can "sharpen" an edge when you bring a loop cut closer to an edge or corner.

  • I cant mirror my object!!

  • @MihailoSilni Make sure you know where your origin is. Its the little orage dot in the center. To move it, cut your shape in half then in edit mode move it so the edge is right over the origin. Then add the Mirror!

  • how to rotate the cube..its my first time to try

  • @vahnvallain Push R then X,Y, or Z to rotate along that axis.

  • help when i delete the half cube it deletes the side from the right half of the cude!

    PLS help!

  • DON'T SLOW DOWN, Please!

I can always rewind the vid, tutorials that take forever drive me nuts.

WTG on a 9000 poly airplane though, lol, try less then 500

which brings me to my question, is there a way to clean up the poly or go from your 9000 poly plane to 500?

  • I like the speed in which he teaches. There is a pause button. And then I can check out the results on my end. I'm new to Blender, first time modeling something *truly* from scratch. (Not a ball... or box.. lol.)

If you are new to computers, programs, and Blender. Probably best to try super3boy's tutorials.

That will give you more basics. 60-120 minutes worth of just describing the interface and how to use the program.

  • Great tutorial! Perfect speed too. I had no problem following along.

  • First of all, what version of blender are you using? Second, how do you get your interface like that? I just have the default GUI at the moment.

  • @txbasketball Thanks, I have :)

  • @kingpen i recommend you get a mouse to plug in to your laptop if you are wanting to navigate using the mouse and if you are becoming serious about using blender and you don't have a number pad i would also purchase one of these to make it easier

  • I must say using maya controls are easier for those that are familiar with 3d graphics and need a fee program also the "widget thingy" is called a gizmo lol other then that great video for those that don't know 3d graphics (viewers remember it is a video so you can pause it while you fallow along)

  • how do you navigate on a laptop?
