I can't think of another musician,in modern times, who would apologize to his audience for saying the word "Shite".
It is not like he said **** or even ****!!.
As an aside,I've noticed more and more Kiwi's using that word now.
It is a (delayed) birthright for many of us!.

Yeah, I know the version you're talking about... I'm a fan of Andy Irvine, Paul Brady, Planxty, etc (all the Irish folk faves) and play a bit of folk music myself....
I've seen Andy twice and Planxty twice - this is the first time I've heard him play this speeded arrangement with the stuttered strums... it was quite different from any of his other performances-solo or with Planxty!!

Not really all that different, just faster, the basic melody and chord progression is the same. For a different version, take a peek at Paul Brady playing it. Like a completely different song.
